About Scam Survivor Healing
Healing from the emotional impact of scams, financial fraud, and exploitation
Welcome to Scam Survivor Healing—a dedicated resource center for those suffering from the emotional aftermath of scams and fraud. Our mission is to help survivors reclaim hope, rebuild trust, and navigate recovery.
Who We Are
I’m Cathy Wilson, a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Littleton, Colorado, USA. My journey with Scam Survivor Healing began when I tried to find resources to support two clients who were scam victims, but I wasn’t able to find ANYTHING. After that, when someone I care about was victimized in the same way, I realized how much this kind of support was needed.
I created an informational webpage about emotional recovery after scams, and it quickly resonated—drawing many people who couldn’t find help elsewhere. That response motivated me to expand this into the full site you’re visiting today.
What We Do
- Resources & education for survivors: articles, videos, and tools to help you understand and heal
- Online courses for supporters: family, friends, advocates, law enforcement, and mental health professionals can learn how to offer help
- Collaborations with organizations and advocates to amplify support and awareness
Why This Matters
Scam trauma is more than a financial loss; it is also an attack on trust, identity, and emotional safety. Many victims suffer in silence, fueled by shame, self-blame, and isolation. My goal is to offer a safe, validating space where you can learn, heal, and find strength.
To survivors reading this: you are not stupid or weak. Anyone can be deceived. You deserve empathy, support, and recovery.
To therapists and helpers: there’s an urgent need for trained professionals who truly understand scam trauma. If you want to deepen your ability to support survivors, please take the following link to read about my online, on demand trainings.
With hope and compassion,
